Grow a Garden Calculator started because the numbers were wrong. Not slightly wrong — wrong in ways that cost players millions of Sheckles per trade.

The crop value tools available when we started building this site treated mutation stacking as additive. Rainbow (50×) plus Shocked (100×) = 150× total. That is not how the game works. The actual result is 5,000×. The difference between those two figures on a high base-value crop is the difference between 150,000 Sheckles and 5,000,000 Sheckles. Players were trading on the smaller number — and losing — because the calculators they trusted were using the wrong formula.

We fixed the formula. Then we built everything else around it.

Every calculator on this site uses verified formulas cross-referenced against in-game results across thousands of individual test cases. The three core systems:

Crop Value Formula

Final Value = Base Price × M1 × M2 × Mn

Multiplicative stacking — every mutation multiplies the running total, not the original base.

Wh = (11 × Wb) ÷ (A + 10)

Every pet, same formula. Age 0 gives maximum weight. Each additional day reduces by ~9%.

Trade Score = (Your Offer Value ÷ Opponent Offer Value) × 100

91–110 = Fair. Above 110 = Win. Below 90 = Loss. Runs automatically in the trade calculator.

How We Keep the Data Current

GAG patches without notice. Mutation multipliers change. New pets arrive. Base values shift. A calculator that was accurate six weeks ago may not be accurate today.

Our update protocol: every formula is re-verified within 24 hours of each confirmed patch. The mutation multiplier table is cross-checked across a minimum of 10 in-game observations per mutation type before any value is listed as confirmed. Prices marked as community-verified reflect consensus from active trading channels — not estimates from a single source.

Every data table on this site shows a Last Updated timestamp. If the timestamp is more than 48 hours old after a known patch — flag it via the contact page and we will prioritise the update.

About the Author

The founder has played Grow a Garden since launch and has logged hundreds of hours across crop trading, pet hatching, and formula testing.

Before building this calculator, several months were spent tracking manual crop calculations against actual trade outcomes to verify where existing tools were failing. The formulas on this site reflect that testing — not research from secondary sources.

Accuracy Statement

No calculator for a live game is 100% accurate 100% of the time. Patches change values. Community consensus shifts. Edge cases exist that no static formula covers perfectly.
